Update on new house...
Caution, Rant Alert!!! DO NOT DEAL WITH OAK CREEK HOMES! We went to their home center in Brookshire, west of Houston looking for a mobile home. They were having a Red Tag Sale, to clear out their model homes, and make room for the new models. We found a nice, 3 bedroom 2 bath double wide, signed the papers, and were assured that they could have it on our property by 9/18. Once the financing was approved, it started raining, and delayed the building of the pad for the house, so I was sure they wouldn't make the 18th. They surprised me, and made the deadline. THAT HAS BEEN THE FIRST AND LAST THING DONE IN A TIMELY FASHION. The bank released the funds once the house was on site and tied down, so now they have their money. We waited 8 days for an inspection, before they could do the "trim out", and finish work. We got word that the inspection was finished last Friday, 9/25, but could they send out their guy to work on it? NOOOO! WE HAD TO WAIT UNTIL WEDNESDAY,9/30 FOR HIM TO SHOW UP. 12 days after the house was delivered. We have no steps into the house, cause, I just found out, that the delivery guys left them, by mistake, on the lot. NOW I WOULD THINK IN 12 DAYS, THEY COULD HAVE GOTTEN THEM DOWN HERE, BUT NO, WE JUST FOUND OUT TODAY THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN HERE SINCE 9/18. We still need the carpet stretched, and tacked down, the skirting put on, and the AC unit installed. Now, they wouldn't write the work order for the AC until the electric is hooked up. It was hooked up about 12:30 today. Do we have AC? NO! And it will be Tuesday before they can bring it out... I'm very angry, and frustrated right now. My Daughter's house is a Clayton Home. It is 900 sq ft larger than out new house, and they got everything done in 2 days, down to the final walk through, and Clayton didn't get their money until then. I'm sorry that I didn't go with Clayton Homes. BEWARE, DO NOT DEAL WITH OAK CREEK HOMES!!!
