Happy New Year (almost)

Happy New year. We worked at the farm most of the day, but took time to empty a cupboard in the kitchen first, as we will have the Sears workers here on Wednesday, to reface the cabinets. We have to empty all the cabinets first, and they are about 1/3 done. We are working on 2 deadlines here. The repair guys, and a cold front.

We got the 5 posts set in concrete that we had to have for the "L" shaped wind break. The point where the 2 sides of the L come together faces due North, and, in order to have any effect on keeping the animals warm, we need to complete the walls to at least 5 feet on each side. The short side is 12 feet long, and the long side is 36 feet. This will eventually be the beginning of a 'shed row' barn, with stalls. The part we are building right now will end up being divided into 3 stalls.

There is a party going on at the farm tonight. Daughter and son-in-law have invited friends to camp out there tonight, and see in the new year. We brought grandson home with us, though he wasn't happy about it. It is dropping to at least 38 tonight, and windy, with a high of 52 tomorrow, and into the 20s the next evening. We will be back out there tomorrow to build the walls higher.

Sunday 12/30

Busy day. Bought the rest of the posts for the barn, and a gate we needed to close off the back of the barn from the rest of the area.

My sister, her 2 daughters, 1 niece's fiance, and his 2 kids, along with my sister's foster son came out to the farm. They rode horses, and fished in the pond, as well as the kids riding bikes and just playing. Everyone seemed to have fun, though there was some tension between 2 of the boys over some of the riding toys. You would think with 3 trikes, and 3 boys, everyone would be happy, but Grandson's new red trike was coveted by all

We got 4 post holes dug, and the posts braced for setting in concrete tomorrow. Everything is set out for tomorrow. We will pour concrete, and fasten some of the boards onto the sides of the barn, then dig more post holes for the second row of posts. It most likely won't be under roof, by the cold snap, but they will have a wind break to get behind, and we will have a solid wall to feed them against.

My arm is doing pretty good. Still not back to normal size, but not as swollen as it was before. I'm wearing the sleeve all day most days, and it seems to be helping.

Saturday 12/29

Busy day. Spent most of the day at the farm staking out the area for the barn. Bought the first posts, and several other odds and ends. We'll start setting posts tomorrow...

Object of this is a wind break that, when extended and roofed will become a shed row barn for the horses.

Friday 12/28

Sat around most of the day waiting for a phone call that never came. The engineer with the septic system plans was in Houston today, and said he would try and meet me to deliver the plans and get paid. He never called back, so no plans yet.

My arm isn't swelling up over night as much as it had been. Maybe it is getting better. That would be nice. The skin isn't as tight around my elbow when I bend my arm, and my hands look the same size. Lets hope this continues, as I haven't any idea how the clots are doing, and the surgeon's office is closed on Fridays. I'll try calling on Monday, but it is new year's eve, so there is no telling if anyone will be there.

We are planning on putting up some kind of wind break for the horses over the next few days, as they're predicting temperatures down into the 20s by next Thursday, and my 2 thoroughbreds don't have enough hair to keep themselves warm in a strong north wind.

Thursday 12/27

Felt better today. Cleared out 3 cupboards in the kitchen in preparation for Sears coming in and resurfacing cabinets and replacing drawers. They will begin on January 2nd. All the cabinets have to be empty before they start. After they are finished, I'm planning on replacing the Formica on the counter tops and back splashes. Once the walls are painted and the new floor is put down, the kitchen will look brand new.

I got distracted and forgot to call centerpoint energy about the estimate on the power poles, and the engineer who is drawing up the plan for our septic system.

Caught a ride out to the farm to help feed the stock. We now have horses, cats, rabbits, and a duck living on the farm.

Christmas report part 2

Here are some more pictures of Addie getting his pony, and Christmas dinner cooking over an open fire. We had a wonderful time. Daughter did most of the work, with son-in-law tending the fire, and Grandma helping kid wrangle.

Wednesday 12/26

Had my 10th treatment today. Only 2 more with Taxol, then a repeat sonogram of the tumor, and a meeting with the oncologist. I'm supposed to start 4 rounds of a mixture of treatments called F.A.C. after that. Each round will be 3 weeks long, treatment week 1, followed by 2 weeks off, to recover. That may change due to the problems with clots. I'll need a port of some kind for that particular mix as whatever the A stands for is very caustic, and can't go directly in to a small vein, like the taxol can. I'm calling the surgeon's office tomorrow to see what they may have come up with.

I had a migraine headache today after my treatment. I think it had more to due with the caffeine I drank yesterday, than the treatment today.

Arm is still swollen. I'm wearing the sleeve as long as I can, taking it off for a short while, and putting it back on. When I first take it off, the swelling is down some, but it quickly returns. I'm still angry that the good Doctor in the E.R. wouldn't order an ultrasound of my arm. I want to know if the clots are still there. I've emailed my nurse, to ask if they can ultrasound my arm when they ultrasound my tumor. I haven't heard back due to the holiday.

Christmas report.

As my daughter and grandson said, "This was the best Christmas ever." We opened presents from 7:30 till about 9:30. Everyone seemed pleased with their gifts. The boys came by later, so their gifts were still under the tree. After breakfast, all the food for Christmas dinner was loaded into the car, along with the 4 rabbits in cages, with anything else that would fit. Daughter and son-in-law headed to farm while grandson, grandpa and I waited for the sons and daughter-in-law to arrive. They showed up about 11:20. We exchanged gifts and visited for about an hour. They declined an invitation to join us for our first Christmas dinner at the Farm, and departed for home.
We loaded up grandson, duck, and 3 dogs, in truck, then headed farm ward. About 1/2 way to the farm we discovered grandpa forgot his tools to tighten up the new trike. We arrived about 1:00. The duck was released into the new rabbit/duck pen, and the grandson and dogs started playing ball. We had delayed the presentation of the pony till later, to give the kind lady giving the pony to be there. Not knowing anything about this, grandson wanted to give his gift to Nippers. He had picked out a new halter, leadrope, and reins for his buddy Nippers. We told him Amy was coming out, and we would wait for her so she could see Nippers get his new finery.
We grilled hot dogs over the fire for lunch, and puttered around the farm. The new trike was a hit, even with loose handlebars. As soon as we get out there with an allen wrench, it will be great!

Amy, her brother and mother showed up around 4:30, and we sent someone to catch Nippers so Addie could give him his new stuff. As soon as we had the halter on him, we suggested that he would like some feed, and Addie should go an get it, (with help).
Grandma, with video tape running, followed and directed him to open the feed barrel where his certificate of ownership had been hidden. When he pulled off the lid, he said, "Grandma, What's this?" I proceeded to read it to him, and when he understood what it meant, he went running out to his pony saying,"I'm getting my pony, I'm getting my pony". When he showed the certificate to the pony, he put his nose down like he was reading it too. Very cute! Here are a few pictures of the day. Will have more when I get copies of daughter's pictures.

Christmas eve

Merry Christmas to all.

I've finally wrapped the last gift, except for the pony, at the farm. Yesterday was busy, and I was feeling better, just ran out of steam before writing here. Bought the last gift at Tractor Supply, a wonderful, farmer's wal-mart. If you can't find it there, you don't need it. Toys, clothes, feed, tools fencing supplies, gates, 4 wheelers, etc. I bought the grandson a new, larger tricycle. It is at the farm, waiting for grandpa to tighten up the bolts, before it's first ride.

We are planning to eat Christmas dinner at the farm. The weather is supposed to be 65 degrees, and sunny. We will head out after opening gifts, eating breakfast, and getting together the food for dinner.

My arm is still swollen, but the sleeve helps temporarily. When I wear it for a while, it goes down, but after several hours, the top of the sleeve starts to cut into my armpit, and I have to remove it.

I hope all my readers have a wonderful Christmas.

Saturday 12/22/07

I've not been feeling well today. Woke with a headache. Took medication, and it eased up, but came back. Took more med, but nothing for nausea. Big mistake! Ate lunch, and gave myself my shot then started out to the farm with Husband Mike and grandson, to feed horses. Soon realized I should have taken something for nausea. I was feeling car sick the whole way. I didn't throw up til we were at the farm, and I was opening and closing gates. We got the horses and cats fed,and brought some hay home for the bunnies. I wasn't quite so bad on the way home, but still not feeling my best.
Made it home, and sipped some sprite, with a dose of compazine. Was able to eat dinner with a side of ginger tea.

I'm having problems with my compression sleeve. It is too long, and cuts into my armpit, as well as cutting off circulation in my wrist, to my thumb. I wore it for several hours this morning, and did the exercises, but had to take it off because it was causing me pain in my armpit, and numbness in my thumb. I'll wear it for short periods, but won't be able to wear it for as long as prescribed. I'll have to see if I can get a shorter one.

We are about ready for Christmas. I hope you are too.

Merry Christmas.

Friday 12/21

Busy day. Went to MDACC to get a compression sleeve for my swollen arm and found out they are calling the problem in my arm Lymphadima, as in swelling from backed up lymph fluid. I thought you only got that after surgery that included removal of lymph nodes. I was wrong. You can get it following cellulitis, and other infections.

Silly me, I thought that when they removed the PAS port, everything would go back to normal, and no one bothered to explain that that might not happen, EVER! Lymphadema is often chronic, and seldom goes away, even with treatment. Yet, If I hadn't pushed and poked at the medical staff, I don't believe anything would have been said to me about it, or any treatment offered.

The physical therapist who fitted me for the sleeve, and glove, also showed me exercises, and measured my arms for comparison. My left arm is 13% larger than my right , and it has gone down some on it's own, just not by much.

As you can tell, I'm very unhappy right now. Before my cancer diagnosis, my only(known) health problem was my weight. My blood pressure was low/normal. My cholesterol was under 145. I don't smoke, and hardly ever drink. I took vitamins, watched my caffeine intake, watched my weight, and was fairly active, though I didn't actually work out, I cleaned 3 horse stalls 3-4 days a week, and rode horseback 40+ hours a week.

Now, without having surgery yet for my cancer, I have possible permanent damage to my lymphatic system that could give me trouble for the rest of my life. This from the port used to poison my body in order to shrink the tumor to a size they can remove. I've quit my job because I'll have to continue on blood thinners until my surgery, and I'm too damn tired to do much of anything. I still don't know if or when they may be able to put in a new port or line of some kind for the next round of chemo. I feel like screaming, and kicking something, or throwing things.

On the bright side, my husband is home from Norway. I won't feel so totally alone now.

Thursday 12/20

Finished my Christmas shopping,(almost)today. Fed horses. All is well at Little Moon Farm.

I'll be heading to MDACC tomorrow to get my compression sleeve for my swollen arm. I need to be there at 1:00, so I'll head there right after lunch. I'll have to feed after that. Son Andy will be heading out that way too, for his first visit to the farm.

Husband is heading home from Norway. He should make it to the house about 3:00 Saturday. Yeah!!

Wed 12/19

What a long day! Son dropped me off at MDACC at 9:30 AM. Had blood drawn. Went up to breast clinic to see what I could find out about swollen arm. Asked questions of nurse, who went away, consulted with my "team", and came back, and said to go to the emergency clinic after my treatment, and have another ultrasound, to see if there is a change in the clots in my arm. They were also to check for infection, as the area around my incision is red.

Went to infusion center for treatment. They couldn't find a good vein in my right arm except for the ones on the back of my hand. It took an extra hour, and 2 extra people to decide to use the vein in my hand. Treatment went OK, finished around 4:15. Called daughter and gave her the update, as she was going to pick me up after...

Went to emergency center. This took a trip on a shuttle to the other side of MDACC, and several changes of elevator. The moved me to a room, and waited for the Dr. He decided that there was no point in doing another ultrasound, as there wasn't going to be any change, and the redness was irritation from the tape. My oncologist is ordering a pressure sleeve for me, to help with the swelling, but I don't have it yet, and don't know when I'll get it.

Had to reverse my journey to ER, to return to drop off point, to get picked up by daughter. was 7:00 by the time I made it home.

I need to call the surgeon's office tomorrow, and see what is up there. Waiting is such a pain, when I have no energy for doing much of anything else.

tuesday 12/18

Very quiet day. Babysat grandson while son-in-law went to a Dr's appointment. Haven't heard from surgeon about new port. Have chemo treatment tomorrow. My arm is still swollen, but incision seem to be healing.

Monday 12/17

Today was a slow day. I never got out of the house beyond putting some mail into the box. I wrote some checks, and paid some bills. I'm tired.

My arm is still swollen. I didn't hear back from the surgeon who is supposed to put in a new port. Maybe tomorrow... I'm feeling depressed over this whole thing.

We did put up our tree, and decorated it.

I spoke to the credit union about the tractor, but I have the wrong model numbers or something, and they can't find an official value on it, so will only loan us 80% of the asking price. I'll call the owner tomorrow and have him check the numbers he gave me. I can't do much without a tractor. If I don't buy his, I'll go for a new one.

Sunday 12/16

Spent the day at the farm, sitting around a fire, doing not much of anything. Today was clear and cold. It is supposed to get below freezing tonight.

Fed the horses, and watched the younger people play. I was too tired to do much of anything. It was nice to be outside though instead of staying inside.

My arm is still swollen. I'm going to contact MDACC tomorrow, and see if this is normal. I thought when they removed the line, the swelling would go down. I'm giving myself the shots. I don't have much patience for waiting on improvement. There isn't any change I can see. I'm frustrated with the whole business.

Saturday 12/15/07

What a day. I brought the trailer home last night and parked it in front of the house over night. WHile Daughter, son-in-law and grandson went to breakfast with santa, I started loading it with stuff to take to the farm. It was about 2/3 full when they returned, minus grandson, who is spending the night with his other grandma. We stopped at their stogage unit to pick up a few things to fill up the trailer, and I headed out to the farm, while they stopped and picked up hot dogs etc, for a late lunch.

It was cold and windy out there, but beautiful. We built a fire, and fed the horses.
Hotdogs always taste good cooked over an open fire.

The trailer is almost unloaded. It will get finished tomorrow. We left the gate from the horse pasture open so that the horses can get behind the barn for a wind break. It is going down to freezing tonight.

My arm is still swollen. I'm worried about the swelling not going down.

Friday 12/14/07

Today has been interesting. I did some Christmas shopping, and while in the store, was called by a clinical pharmacist, from MDACC, as a follow up to the clotting medication I'm taking. She was very nice, but I explained to her that I felt that I was turned loose with injectable medication without proper instructions for it's use. I was asked if I had ever given myself injections, and I said no, but I'd given shots to horses, and my daughter helped her husband, when he was on insulin shots for his diabetes. That was the extent of my instruction. The nurse gave me the first shot there in the emergency room, and sent me home.
She said that often the ER is very busy, and that if I wanted, they have a video I can watch next time I'm in for treatment. I think that is a little late.

After I returned home, I was called by the nurse for the surgeon who will be putting in my new port. She was following up with me on a call she made yesterday. The surgeon had to review my records, and see what clotting med I'm on. There is a problem with putting in a new port, cause they don't want to put it in on the same side that will be having surgery, but I've still got clots, and compromised circulation in my left arm. He is going to consult with some other Drs about how they might be able to clear the clots so that they can use my left side veins. I'll hear back from them next week.

I went out to feed, and picked up the trailer so that we can carry more stuff out to the farm tomorrow.

I can't take a shower till tomorrow when I take the bandage off my incision, where they removed my port.

I found out I'll have to stay on the blood thinners until I have my surgery. I'll have to give myself a shot everyday unless I'm having a surgical procedure done.

Our insurance company would only give the OK for 14 days worth of the drug, because it is so expensive. Each shot costs about $150.00, and I'll need one each day for 3 months. The people at MDACC are working on getting them to OK the rest.

Thursday, December 13, 2007

Thursday evening

Arrived at MDACC main building at 8:00 Am to get my port removed. They took me back at 8:30. I was finished at 10:30. I was informed that I needed to stay on a clot preventive/dis solver for a while. I called the breast clinic, to get a nurse, to call a Dr., to write the prescription. Then they had to decide what drug to use. Then the insurance company denied the charge, then they worked to get it OKed, and had to get the Med. transferred to the pharmacy where we were waiting, from a different one at MDACC. They only had 14 days worth, so I'll have to get the rest next time I go in. I still will have to give myself shots. the good news is, only once a day. The bad news is, for the next 2 months.

They didn't put in a new port today. I spoke to the surgeon's nurse today, and she needed the information about the drug they were putting me on. Since I didn't have that information until she was gone for the day at 3:00, she will call me over the weekend or Monday, and get the information to give to the Dr so he can decide when to schedule me for the implantation.

Though I was finished with the removal at 10:30, we didn't leave there till 3:30, due to waiting on my med. Another long day. One of the people I spoke with today told me that the MD in MDACC stands for Most (of the) Day.

Wednesday, December 12, 2007

Wednesday evening

Today was a long day. I was at MDACC at 9:30 AM, and was picked up at 5:40PM. In addition to my blood work and chemo, I also was x-rayed for my surgery tomorrow, and interviewed by the anesthesiologist.

When I went to have my arm x-rayed, they had me down to have my FORE arm x-rayed, and the port is in my upper arm. The radiologist decided to check with the surgeon about what he was supposed to be x-raying. He ended up also x-raying my upper arm, as well as the chest films that were scheduled for later.

I had to have a regular IV started for my Chemo today. I now have a bruise on my Right arm from the IV.

I have to be back there at 8:30 AM. My sister Sue is taking me. I'll be glad to have this out, but I don't know if they will put in a new one on the other side while I'm there, or if I'll have to have bruised arms every week, until they decide when to put in a new one.

I'm not too happy right now.

Tuesday

The saga continues. I was scheduled to visit the dentist today, to begin the work on finishing my root canal. I need the build-up and crown done. Because if the medication that I've been on since Friday, I called the dentist's office this morning, explained my problem, and asked that the let me know if the dentist thought it was a good idea to come in today. The receptionist called me back to clarify how much of the drug I was on, etc. I gave her the information. When she didn't call me back, I called her, and she said "come on down." When I got there, they proceeded to set me up, and prepared to numb me up. While she was talking to me, I mentioned how I was bothered by the swelling in my arm, and would be glad when the port and clots were gone. CLOTS? I don't think anyone was paying attention to what I was saying this morning, and now that I'm in the chair, she decides to call my Dr and ask. Low and behold, it isn't a good idea for me to be getting dental treatment at this time. Why didn't they figure that out before I drove there? I called because I had my doubts, and expected them to check. Oh well!

Monday evening 12/10

Today has been a busy one. I called MDACC about my clotted line. They won't remove it until Thursday Morning. I'll be spending all day there on Wednesday, as in addition to my treatment, they are running tests before they remove the PASport.

I called all around the county trying to find out about the fire hydrant in my front pasture. No one knows anything. The county hasn't a clue, the Needville volunteer fire co has no idea. The county engineer, is clueless. It is about 20 feet from the gas pipeline that runs through the front corner of the property, and I tried to call the gas co, but didn't know what option to choose, and there wasn't a real person to ask.

I drove to the feed store, then to the farm to feed. While the horses were eating I mended the fence again. There is a corner of the horse pasture where it is a bog, and we cut across it with the electric fence. I don't think the horses can see the rope well enough and someone broke the rope. I patched up the line, and set 2 more posts, then flagged the line so they should be able to see it.

When I got back home, my daughter was taking my grandson to the Dr. He has been sick all day, running fever, and coughing. He has a virus. We have been trying to keep him quiet and away from me and his dad, who is recovering from hernia surgery.

After they returned, I had to go to the store and pick up my prescription. All in all a very busy day.

Sunday evening 12/9/07

we spent most of the day at the farm. the horses got fed, and 4 of them were ridden. I've added several pictures of us riding the horses. Addie had a wonderful time riding Nippers.

We roasted hot dogs over a fire, and had a very nice day. We took all 3 of our dogs with us, and they had a wonderful time.

Mike left for a 2 week stay in Norway this afternoon. He will return on the 22nd, 3 days before Christmas.

My arm is slightly less swollen this evening. I will call MDACC in the morning and see when they want to remove this PASport.

Saturday PM

Today has been busy. I did get the Christmas decorations put out in the yard, with the help of my husband and grandson, but it aggravated the swelling in my arm. I called MDACC ER, and they said rest it above my heart, on a pillow.

After lunch, we went to the farm, fed the horses, and went fishing from the little john boat. No nibbles, but Addie had a wonderful time.

It is so peaceful at the farm.
Here are a few pictures I took early Friday morning, as the sun came up.

Saturday

Well, I did it. I gave myself a shot in my stomach to prevent more clots in my arm. I have to give myself one every 12 hours, until they can remove my PAS port.

I'm going to put out my Christmas decorations when I'm finished with this post. My grandson will help me. After we are done, and Mike returns from Christmas Shopping and picking up the cat from the vet, we will be heading to the farm to feed horses, and try out the boat for fishing.

Friday, December 7, 2007

Friday evening

Well, I have clots around my central line. That is why my arm is swollen up. It isn't considered enough of an emergency to remove the line on a Friday. I have to have a shot of an anti-clot drug, twice a day, sub-cutaneously, in my stomach, until they can schedule a time to take it out. I have to call first thing Monday morning and see when they can cut the damn thing out of my arm. I'll miss a day of work, cause they aren't going to want me riding or grooming a horse with a fresh incision in my arm. I'm hoping it can be done on Wednesday, before my chemo, so I don't have to make a second trip.

I have a massage scheduled for Sunday Morning, but I think it will have to wait for next week, after the line is removed.

Friday 12/7/07

Today started out early. I slept at the farm, and I didn't sleep well. I was up before 7:00 Am. I took some lovely pictures of the sunrise, walked around the ponds, spreading ant poison as I strolled. I fed the 7 horses, and while they ate, I walked the fence line and found 4 places where the fence was grounded. I fixed them and turned the horses back out.

Nermal has a gash on her neck. I think she was fighting with one of the ferals. It isn't new, but I took her to the vet and dropped her off for treatment, on my way home.

Before I headed home, I put some repair plates on the fiberglass ladder that the previous owner left out there. The hinges were trying to pull out of the ladder, so I drilled through the attachment and bolted a flat piece of metal over it, and bolted the plate in several different places. I started for the house about 11:30. dropped the cat off, and that is when things started to fall apart

I left my camera, and cell phone in the pocket of the fleece vest I was wearing early this morning. It is one I wear for work, and I put it in the trailer.

When I got home, my arm felt 'funny'. I needed a bath, so went to take one, and noticed my left arm is swollen from my fingers to my shoulder.

My son-in law had his hernia repaired this morning and is in recovery. We have the grandson. Daughter is in route to pick up grandson and drop him at his other grandmother's, so I can go to the emergency room to have my arm checked out.

Luckily, Mike took today off. He was planning to do his Christmas shopping, but we need to see what is happening with me first.

I'll update this later.

Wednesday 12/5

Went out and fed this morning. Everything was beautiful. Took Addie to buy a new halter for Nippers, for Christmas.

Met with my Dr. He wants to have a new mammogram done after I complete the 12 weeks of Taxol, and before I start the next round. He said everything looks good.

Had my chemo, and for the first time, I'm slightly nauseous. Since I'm working tomorrow, I'm heading to bed.

I found a location for the posts I'll need for the barn, close enough to pick up and not have to pay delivery charges, which would have been $175.00.

I'm meeting with the man from the light company tomorrow, before work, to discuss what needs done to hook us up to the electric service.

Tuesday, December 4, 2007

Tuesday PM

Well, the lumber trailer is at the farm. I drove it out there this afternoon, backed it up to the barn, and unhitched it there. I fed the horses, and walked around the property with my realtor, who had never seen the property. We turned the horses loose, and returned to town.

I took some pictures of the water birds, and pictures of Addie sitting on the dock in the last pond.

Tomorrow I receive my 7th treatment. The infection I had is gone. I have an appointment with my oncologist, Dr Pusztai. I have a list of questions for him. I'll write more after...

electricity is expensive!!!

It will cost us at least $6,600.00 just to get the poles set that we will need to bring electric to the barn. It is highway robbery, cause they have you over a barrel. A survey, with easement is $1,400.00 and they won't do the work without it.

Each pole they set will be $1,300, and we will need at least 4, set 300 ft apart.

I have no idea that else we will have to pay. What a headache! No wonder the seller never did it!

On a brighter note, I've applied for credit to buy the tractor. YEAH!!! We will need it to set the support poles for the barn, and add fill dirt to the area where it is going. I figure to kill 2 jobs with one tractor. The drainage ditches need clearing and deepening. The dirt from there will be used to raise the floor of the run-in shed we will build for this winter. The shed will be added on to as needed to eventually make a shed row of about 7-8 stalls.

busy monday

We just bought about $2,000 worth of lumber for less than $400. Found it on craigslist. It was from a salvage lumber yard. Rough cut 2x6x 12 ft long for $2.50 apiece. There are also some 8' and 10' lengths. We bought all that they had. Quite an adventure though, cause they gave wrong directions, and we drove to the north side of Houston, instead of out by Hobby Airport.

Oh well, we have lots of lumber for building a barn, at very low cost.

I'm heading to bed now, I'll add details about what I discovered about getting electricity at the farm tomorrow.

I was tired when I originally typed this. I've corrected the numbers to reflect the real dimensions

Sunday PM

This has been a long, busy day. We went to the farm for a few hours, after a trip to Home Depot to pick up reflectors to put by the gate so I can find the driveway in the dark. Being in the middle of nowhere, there aren't any street lights, so I need all the help finding the gate at 11:00 PM as I can find.

We unloaded the buggy and covered it up. Mike planted 2 of the trees that are still in pots. Michelle, Amy, and a friend rode around for about an hour, then Mike rode for about 30 min. We took Twinky out and she had a ball, running around in circles. She doesn't try and bark at the horses or cows, which is a good thing.

We went to my company Christmas party at 6:00 in the Woodlands, which is a good 45 min from the house. Lots of good food, and friends.

Got a line on a free, 4 year old TB mare. DOn't think we can take her on right now though, as we still need to get this place ready to sell, and get moved out there.

Soooo many free horses, so little time...

Sunday AM 12/2

Wow, was I ever tired last night. We went to Stargate Yule, an SCA Christmas party. I got in free, cause I was "working" as security, IE, I was there, so the Church allowed us to consume alcohol on the premises. It was a fun day, but by the time we got home, I almost didn't have the energy to undress for bed. Speaking of which, I'm going back to bed now.
