Well tomorrow is the big day. I get my new port, and start the second part of my chemo. I spent all day today at MDACC meeting with anesthesiologists and the surgeon, getting blood drawn, and having an EKG to make sure I'm fit for surgery. I have to check in at 6:30 AM, and can't have anything by mouth after 12:00 midnight.
My friend Amy's mom passed away this evening at 9:45. She was 60, and had been smoking for 40+ years. She had metastasized lung cancer. She was on chemo up until Christmas, but they didn't expect a cure, just hoped to prolong her life, but it didn't work for her. Amy reported her mom's passing was peaceful.
