The surgery was a success. I now have a port in my chest, right under my collar bone, on my right side. I've felt kind of nauseous all day, and very groggy.
I'm very impressed with how MDACC does things. I was given papers to read about my port, and watched a video on it before the surgery. Nothing like that was done before ST Lukes put in the other one.
I had my first treatment with F A C. I have to eat ice while getting the "F", to help prevent mouth sores, the "A" is red, and colors your urine orange, and the "C" you must drink lots of water, cause it is hard on the kidneys.
