It has been a busy week here at Little Moon Farm. The young hens are giving us between 6-9 eggs a day, as long as we collect them several times during the day, so they don't eat them. The babies will start laying in about 6 weeks, and then we should get 45+ eggs a day. We have yet to see a duck egg, though they should be ready to lay, too.
Husband Mike mowed the front pasture and I've been working on the fence around the arena, as well as along the driveway. All the posts are set for the arena, and reset and insulators placed on most of the driveway fence posts. We need another solar charger, 2 gates, and 2 more ground rods before we can finish the driveway fence, but it needs to be done so that the horses don't run out of grass in the side pastures.
Today I mowed the back/side pasture, the side yard, and more of the pasture outside the yard fence. Driving the tractor is easier than fence work. I need to encourage Mike to switch with me, him on fence, ME on tractor.;-D
School is back in session. Grandson is in first grade this year, and so far, he loves it.
I'm feeling good, and keeping busy, but working in short bursts, with rests in between. My next treatment is on Wednesday, but I will be going in for tests on Tuesday, including a CT and a chest x-ray, to check the status of my tumors. I feel good, though I should have worn one of my masks today while mowing, as it kicks up lots of dust, and I'm coughing tonight.
