I spent the day at the MD Anderson Breast Clinic, getting poked and prodded. The day started at 9:00AM, with a chest x-ray and blood work. Then a shot of radioactive stuff, and orders to drink at least a liter of liquid in the next 2 hours, and return for a bone scan. During the 2 hour wait, I attended a free information class, including lunch, about when to go to the emergency room while you are being treated for cancer. The bone scan meant lying on my back for 25 minutes, not moving, while the scanned my bones for possible cancer. 2:00 was an orientation class for patients and family members. After 2:45 no food, or dairy products, and report for a CAT scan at 5:20. I drank 3 cups of barium, and had an iodine IV, then a cat scan of my chest and abdomen. This actually took 2 hours prep and about 15 min for the scan. I had to drink 2 cups 1.5 hours before and one more right before the scan. They put in an IV shunt, and started the iodine IV 1/2 way through the scan. That was the last test of the day and finished up at 7:45 PM. I'm probably glowing in the dark about now.
Thank-God that is over. Tomorrow will be much better, cause We get to close on the property.

*hugs* I spent a couple of days in the hospital myself recently. 1 urinalysis, two fasts, two blood draws, one CT, one ultrasound, one colon cleanse, 9 cups of banana flavored barium. To discover that I had 4 pounds of nastiness in my colon that I"d been carrying around since at least July, and large gallstones. Test = 4 letter word (like "work = 4 letter word.) NO FUN.
And, CONGRATULATIONS ON THE FARM! Since I presume you still don't plan to go to Three Kings, will you be on the farm that weekend? (It's Eric's birthday, and he's suggested he'd like a visit to Houston, to visit with both you and his mother...)
*hugs*
Love,
me
