It has been a very long day, but the wind break for the horses is finished. It is over 6 feet tall and 35 feet long. We finished early enough that we moved a large pile of metal that was near by and was a hazard to the horses. Eventually, we will add a roof and overhang/breezeway, and close in stalls, as well as add to the length of the back wall, and this will be our first horse barn. For now, it provides a minimum amount of shelter from the north wind. Rosie and Birdie don't have as thick of winter coats as the others, and they would lose too much weight trying to stay warm, without it.
