Happy New Year (almost)

Happy New year. We worked at the farm most of the day, but took time to empty a cupboard in the kitchen first, as we will have the Sears workers here on Wednesday, to reface the cabinets. We have to empty all the cabinets first, and they are about 1/3 done. We are working on 2 deadlines here. The repair guys, and a cold front.

We got the 5 posts set in concrete that we had to have for the "L" shaped wind break. The point where the 2 sides of the L come together faces due North, and, in order to have any effect on keeping the animals warm, we need to complete the walls to at least 5 feet on each side. The short side is 12 feet long, and the long side is 36 feet. This will eventually be the beginning of a 'shed row' barn, with stalls. The part we are building right now will end up being divided into 3 stalls.

There is a party going on at the farm tonight. Daughter and son-in-law have invited friends to camp out there tonight, and see in the new year. We brought grandson home with us, though he wasn't happy about it. It is dropping to at least 38 tonight, and windy, with a high of 52 tomorrow, and into the 20s the next evening. We will be back out there tomorrow to build the walls higher.
