Saturday PM

Mike and I spent most of today at the farm. We stopped at Tractor Supply to buy ground rods and connector wire to hook up the hot wire over the barbed wire for the horse fence. We also bought 400 feet of horse safe, mesh wire for new fence.
When we got to the farm, we needed to figure out where to start. We decided to lay out the area where we planned to string a temporary barbed wire fence line, drove in the stakes, and walked the line of ceder posts we were planning on putting the fence up on, when we decided we would take down some fence that wasn't needed, and recycle the posts, This took most of the day. We met our leaser, who runs cattle on the place, and he told us a bit about the history of the place, and why there is one picture on the google earth site where it looks like a dust bowl in the middle of the farm. That was taken while they were digging out another pond, and spreading the dirt out to make a raised area for building a house. While we were talking to Bruno, the cattle rancher, we noticed an area between the barn and the front of the property, that is almost totally enclosed in fence, with it's own small pond for water, that we only need to run the hot wire around, to move the horses out there.
We are soooo excited!!! First thing in the morning, we are heading out there to walk the fence, and start to put the insulates on the posts for the hot wire. When that is done, we can start moving the animals, their feed, and all that jazz out to the farm. Wooo Hooo!!!

Boy am I glad I can get an extra hours sleep tonight, cause I'm exhausted!
