Wednesday evening

What a day... It started out OK. We made it to MDACC in time for my blood test at 8:30. Went up to the 8th floor for my chemo scheduled for 10:30. They called me back at 10:30, but couldn't get a blood return on my PAS port. They tried heparin, and tried a longer needle, but no go. The had to order a drug for dissolving blood clots. It is used for heart attacks, and strokes, in the first few hours. I can't remember the name, but it was 3 initials, starting with 'T'. This took time, because they had to get Dr's approval, and order it from the pharmacy, then administer it and wait 60 min. for it to do it's thing. By this time, it was 12:30.

Mike has had a rash for the last few days, and it was troubling. It looked like poison ivy rash, but didn't itch, and though we had been working at the farm last weekend, I hadn't seen any sign of the P.I. plant.
I made an appointment for Mike to see our regular Dr this afternoon, at 3:30. It soon became apparent that I wouldn't be finished in time for him to make his appointment. I sent him on, and he made it. Good thing too... He has shingles!!

I spoke to a nurse about preventing me from getting it from him, and it may already be too late. Time will tell.

Meanwhile, My daughter and son-in-law both have been coughing for months. They went to see their Dr today. My son-in law may have CO PD, and my daughter is allergic to the world! They have taken her off of wheat, corn, soy, several kinds of nuts, and peanuts.

Very busy and exhausting day! We picked up Mike's prescriptions on our way back from MDACC, and picked up food for dinner for everyone.

The horses won't get fed till tomorrow morning, due to wide spread exaustion, but they should be fine. They have plenty of grass to eat, and lots of water.

I need to go and eat now.
