Wednesday evening

Had my 5th chemo treatment today. Things went better this week. No blood clots, or problems with the central line. Arrived at 7:55 for an 8:00 blood draw. Met with Dr. Asked about HER-2 and Estrogen receptors. Turns out my tumor tested negative for both of them and progesterone.

I got the results of my CT scan. I have some small scars/ calcification spots in my lungs, but no sign of cancer. I also have a kidney stone, and a small cyst on my kidney, but again, no sign of cancer. They want to re-do the test in 6 months to make sure there is no change.

I asked the Dr about any possible changes in treatment, due to my tumor shrinking. She said, most likely I will finish all 24 weeks of chemo,(12 weeks Taxol, then, 4 rounds, 3 weeks long, of FAC ) and then have surgery, just as outlined at the start.

I'll meet with Dr Pusztai in 2 weeks, and can ask him any other questions I may have. I'm taking Keflex for 7 days because there is a bit of redness around my port, from last week, and she wants to make sure to stop any possible infection ASAP.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
