Wed 12/19

What a long day! Son dropped me off at MDACC at 9:30 AM. Had blood drawn. Went up to breast clinic to see what I could find out about swollen arm. Asked questions of nurse, who went away, consulted with my "team", and came back, and said to go to the emergency clinic after my treatment, and have another ultrasound, to see if there is a change in the clots in my arm. They were also to check for infection, as the area around my incision is red.

Went to infusion center for treatment. They couldn't find a good vein in my right arm except for the ones on the back of my hand. It took an extra hour, and 2 extra people to decide to use the vein in my hand. Treatment went OK, finished around 4:15. Called daughter and gave her the update, as she was going to pick me up after...

Went to emergency center. This took a trip on a shuttle to the other side of MDACC, and several changes of elevator. The moved me to a room, and waited for the Dr. He decided that there was no point in doing another ultrasound, as there wasn't going to be any change, and the redness was irritation from the tape. My oncologist is ordering a pressure sleeve for me, to help with the swelling, but I don't have it yet, and don't know when I'll get it.

Had to reverse my journey to ER, to return to drop off point, to get picked up by daughter. was 7:00 by the time I made it home.

I need to call the surgeon's office tomorrow, and see what is up there. Waiting is such a pain, when I have no energy for doing much of anything else.
